Eight people have been injured after a building collapsed near Mamboleo Showground in Kisumu.
Two of the victims are in critical condition, while the others are receiving treatment at various hospitals in the lakeside city.
Emergency teams rushed to the scene following the collapse and began evacuating residents from the building as security officers secured the area.
Authorities confirmed that all 65 tenants who were living in the building have been accounted for.
The Kisumu County Government has since condemned the structure, citing safety concerns following the collapse.
Officials said the remaining section of the building is expected to be brought down on Monday to prevent further danger to residents and people in the surrounding area.
Emergency and security teams remained at the scene as preparations for the demolition continued.
The cause of the collapse was not immediately established.
Authorities are expected to investigate the incident and establish what led to the structural failure.
No deaths had been reported following the incident.
