Kenyan international Timothy Noor Ouma has returned home with a major statement attached to his name – he is a Polish league champion.

The 21-year-old midfielder was part of the Lech Poznań squad that sealed the 2025/26 Ekstraklasa title, capping a significant season-long loan spell from Czech giants Slavia Prague.

Lech confirmed the championship with a 3-1 victory over Radomiak Radom, a result that handed the club its 10th Polish top-flight crown and secured qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League qualifiers.

The title is a strong response from Ouma, a young player still building his reputation in Europe, and a timely reminder of why he remains one of Kenya’s most closely watched football exports.

His move to Lech Poznań was confirmed in July 2025 as a season-long loan from Slavia Prague, with the Polish champions offering him an opportunity to gain more playing time and continue his development in a competitive European environment.

The loan also placed him in a club with continental ambition. At the time of his arrival, Lech were preparing for Champions League qualifiers, and Ouma was seen as part of a squad trying to push beyond domestic dominance into a stronger European campaign.

His campaign was not without turbulence, but the wider picture now favours a more positive reading. Ouma leaves the Polish season with a league winner’s medal, valuable exposure in a demanding top-flight environment, and the possibility of Champions League football attached to his next move.

Transfermarkt lists him in Lech Poznań’s 2025/26 squad as a defensive midfielder on loan from Slavia Prague, with his market value placed at €1.2 million.

The big question now is where he plays next. Slavia Prague still hold his long-term contract, and that means the next few weeks could be decisive, either with a return to Prague, a continued role in Poland, or another European pathway.

Ouma is back in Kenya not just as a promising talent, but as a champion whose next step could lead to the UEFA Champions League.
